Xbox360 Beta Release thread( 4 years or older ONLY )

Why apologize? You didn't sell it then release it, You got it fair and square on your own and can do whatever you want with it regardless if it might upset some random on the interwebz cause they had to pay.

As Borman said do whatever you want with it.

 

I'm in agreement in some sense with those who want it out.
If it was acquired on your own means I see no reason it shouldn't be shared by you. I cant speak for the people that paid for it and I'm sure a good number don't want it out there for that reason alone. Granted my stance is everything should be given to everyone so I have a somewhat less popular opinion on the matter. I didn't grab it before it was pulled so I missed out but still.

I say do as you wish with it if you got it yourself. Though you can share it privately if making it public causes too many issues if that's an option.

 

This is why you don't sell builds. We live in a digital age. Time is only what you're paying for. That and short term bragging rights because eventually, everything leaks.

Technically since Xbox builds are found on XDK, it's all stolen. The kits "stolen" are per Microsoft. Then if the kits were legally leased, then it violates the contract with MS and probably would open liability from the studio to the individual leaking it.

Either way it's in that whole grey area of law. But bottom line, why get pissed?

 

I think dishonesty has a lot to do with it.
For example, if you're the owner of a build and you make a backup and never tell anyone and you sell the disc for a premium, only to have others get the files as well at some point, the person buying it would be pretty pissed because you've essentially got them to pay a hefty price for something that many people have.

That's not to say this is always the case but it's certainly an issue I've noticed while I've been here. In this case it was 2 separate entities that got the same build, one sold it, one did not and released it themselves.

 

FFS if people weren't allowed to share things that someone else might have bought this entire section wouldn't exist and nothing would ever be preserved.

 

And im just sitting here... wondering how to get "I Am Alive Beta".

Or at least do site fundraisers to raise money for the site as well as Xbox 360 build releases. For people who are worried that releasing the stuff that they paid for it won't go free

 

I am still waiting on clarification from ASSEMbler himself regarding my releases. Mostly xbla titles but they haven't been leaked prior and are from PartnerNet by ME and no one else.

 

I don't want to be rude or undermine your release efforts, but could you please use either the multi-quote or edit buttons? Two posts in a row is one thing, 4 in a row is just outlandish. If you're familiar enough with the site to acknowledge the release rules, avoiding multi-posting shouldn't be too hard.

 

I have the thread set to notify me if a new post has been made. Editing a post sadly does not alert me.
But yes, it is a bit much unless its a bump after a few days.

Truth me told I never understood doing the multi-quote method because put all replies and my message into notepad, then copy it over to post. Is multi quote essentially the same thing?

 

We should bring that up. Possibly have that as an option if you'd like to be alerted of editing. Although I could see that becoming annoying.

Yep. +Quote just adds them to a little database. Insert Quotes... shoots beneath the left side of the text box. You can change what place/position they're in.

 

I love pnet xbla games. The too im after are haste and combat wings...

 

I don't have either one of those unfortunately.
