I noticed that this S controller does not have a serial # or an FC approval on the right side of the sticker. Is there a reason for this?

Could be worn away, I think the serial and some other stuff used different printing.

    Hey Borman,
Could be, but wouldn't other parts of it still be visible. Isn't there also supposed to be a barcode in the middle as well?

Like I said, the printing would be different on the serial number, as I would imagine they print those ahead of time then add the serial number going down the line. I dont have any really worn controllers to compare, so its just a theory really.

    yeah thats just worn.
The stickers have layers, the back layer has the white background and non unit specific info. Clear film over that with the barcode and other info, then another clear film to protect it.

that last clear layer tends to peel off after a while (happened to a few of mine), once it's gone the serial number is still there but there isn't anything protecting it..

Older style wall warts (like the megadrive) used the same method, although the back layer is usually thin metal..
