got it today, some reports will follow. I m tired as of now the previous statements still apply (loud fan, black screen with kryptos in ascii art) What I could mention so far : the stickers on the pad and PSU mention prototype. on the left side of the box, there is no usb connector, maybe present on the motherboard but the small opening is closed. the pad so far seems to be irresponsive (no light/indicator whatsoever but I don't even know how it is supposed to behave in the first place), tried with regular rechargeable batteries and pluggued in usb on the rear port. No reaction at all. The stripes/zebra pattern is a sticker put on a white shell basically (not sure for the pad though). of course no X sign for the power on, but the same one you can find on the 360 (at least the fat model), never played with the slim. through the airvents I managed to see different lights and mostly 2 SSD (seven segments display/indicators) which alternate between two numbers as soon as the PSU is plugged in.
corrections : SSDs turn on when the power button is first touched and stay on after that. there might be more than 2 (hard to see without opening the box) The side usb is present, and the cover is quite soft (a bit like a more dense/rigid version of electrical tape)

I finally had time to play with it and I opened the box completely (took a few pics which will be coming later on) Basically the MB is quite close to this one : http://abload.de/img/20130514-xbox-one-teanzucn.jpg (like really the same except the caps having a different color and the mem chips not having the exact same reference : 2Y instead of 2W. I can t find a real difference except these particular points) during the opening, the top aluminium part is specifying december 2012, the bottom one january 2013, the br player has a big orange sticker telling it s an engineering sample (also from january 2013). and here come some specs about the hdd :Model: ST500LM0 12 HN-M500MBB (scsi)Disk /dev/sdb: 500GBSector size (logical/physical): 512B/512BPartition Table: gpt Number Start End Size File system Name Flags 1 1049kB 17,2GB 17,2GB ntfs Temp Content msftdata 2 17,2GB 425GB 408GB ntfs User Content msftdata 3 425GB 468GB 42,9GB ntfs System Support msftdata 4 468GB 481GB 12,9GB ntfs System Update msftdata 5 481GB 489GB 7516MB ntfs Future Growth msftdata and hdd files (first number is obviously the partition) ./1./2./2/ConnectedStorage./2/manufacturing.exe./2/NuiView.ERA_8wekyb3d8bbwe./2/VgbView.ERA_8wekyb3d8bbwe./2/Xbox.BiometricEnrollmentTool_8wekyb3d8bbwe./2/Xbox.Home_8wekyb3d8bbwe./2/Xbox.Pixie_8wekyb3d8bbwe./2/Xbox.SignIn_8wekyb3d8bbwe./2/Xbox.SpeechLab_8wekyb3d8bbwe./2/Xos.MteApp_(---edit---some string but not the one above...don t know what it may be related to)./3 ./4./5 So basically, except those files on the second part, nothing lies on the hdd 513M ConnectedStorage24K manufacturing.exe102M NuiView.ERA_8wekyb3d8bbwe102M VgbView.ERA_8wekyb3d8bbwe101M Xbox.BiometricEnrollmentTool_8wekyb3d8bbwe105M Xbox.Home_8wekyb3d8bbwe105M Xbox.Pixie_8wekyb3d8bbwe105M Xbox.SignIn_8wekyb3d8bbwe103M Xbox.SpeechLab_8wekyb3d8bbwe103M Xos.MteApp_(-----)

want is one think, second is possibiliy to getting beta/alpha or even recovery. anyway soeone is able to convert final release to be able to run on dev kit? removing retail flag like on X1 X360
The strings are of what looks like a standard 64-bit Windows application. (.pdata, RtlLookupFunctionEntry and RtlVirtualUnwind tell me that it's 64-bit.) I'm curious whether the zebra pattern is unique and indicates the serial number of the device.
The strangest thing is that "IS 616:2008" marking - this is a prototype that was presumably designed in the US and made in China - but it doesn't have any US or Chinese compliance markings - just an Indian one...
SamY, do you mind editing your post and deleting everything after "@.reloc" and before "MFG:"? Those are all false positive hits for strings and just clutter this thread. Thanks! <3
(removed pictures, sorry: see first page of this thread, zebra printed xbox ones) @Myria I dont think the zebraprint is unique, but this is missing a QR code (maybe removed or never put on)
Holyshit! Thanks for the pictures SamY!!! Beautiful looking system, Microsoft should really consider this a Limited Edition colour in the future. (will never happen)
@SamY, I thought all Zebras were supposed to be turned in by August, how did you manage to keep yours?
I was thinking about that zebra pattern. Is it possible MS added it for the same reason car manufacturers add it to a prototype?
