XBox 360 Launch Console dates

I had not heard of the "partner" version of the 360 Launch Team console. I was aware some partners were given an "I Made This" faceplate but I had not heard of any getting the full console.

 

Man, this guy seems to have a lot of Launch 360s. Still confused as this one has a Dec.13th date

Email him straight up and see if he thinks the green "looks painted".
Ask him for a picture of the bottom of the hard drive.
To me personally the color green looks off....

But in his old listing he has this glossy type look on the green parts, and I thought the green parts were matte finish.

 

Honestly I wouldn't buy one unless the date was 11-9-2005, but that's just me

 

Syclopse do you have one that you can take pictures of the green covers? I've been trying to buy one of these for a while, but I'm having the hardest time finding out real vs. fake.

Thanks for the video surgeon. I can't really tell color from that video, but the HDD info was very helpful! It's another piece of info that helps verify authenticity.

 

Does anyone think that switching in an OPUS motherboard would not decrease the value? If you open it correctly using an unlock kit and remove the warrantys using a blowdryer etc. Sadly these things will die eventually.

 

I just checked mine, even though the service date when I sent it in was in 2009 it is still a Xenon motherboard per the PSU port console side. I am sure there were 05 LT consoles that died so badly an Opus was sent back to the owner. It's very probable. However opening an 05 Launch Team console is near sacrilegious. But then again Opus typically pull in a hefty dollar and one inside a 05 LT would set an even more epic price tag. But then again, you'd always know its not authentic.

 

I mean, I can see why you wouldn't want to open up a launch team console, but its not like there is much of a choice at this point. I imagine most Launch Teams have had RROD by now.

 

You can still send them into Microsoft and have a repair done assuming the seal wasn't tampered with. I mean they'll do the same thing any of us would do to repair RROD, but at least it retains legitimacy that way for value.

Sorry if this is slightly off topic, but who exactly in M$ qualified for a Launch Team console? Was it everyone who had some sort of significant role in the project, or just "Head of department" guys?
