I don't know if you already know of this site, but it is highly useful for collectors like yourself: http://www.consolecolors.com/nintendo.html#gc
As long as I remember I've got a Gdev box, a minty Hanshin limited edition + 1st Jap purple edition http://s1235.photobucket.com/user/reymobilesuit/slideshow/GameCube JAP
Bump I do know of that site and it is pretty great. Wish they would find some of the pictures of their missing consoles though. Still have some cash available, and I have edited the OP. Especially looking for an NPDP Cube
The site says, about the Symphonia console: Mint green - Lody character on top - also comes with alternate logo (image of alternate logo needed!) It's been a few years since mine has seen the light of day, but I'm certain it didn't come with an alternate logo, unless it was a regular disk lid. Mine is a JAP console, bought new. Also it states it was available in the UK, which I'm certain is wrong. It was available in mainland Europe (France I'd imagine) as I remember seeing a poster for it in a games shop in Montreux, (French speaking part of..) Switzerland. They also don't mention the Metroid limited edition, which I gather is because it was a regular colour (black) but with a Metroid disc lid (also available separately via Nintendo Stars Catalogue - the pre-cursor to Club Nintendo in the UK).
I can help with a few of these questions. I have the box for the metroid gamecube and it was a platinum gamecube and controler with the metroid game. That is all with that one. I do not have the gamecube anymore and I found the box a year ago in my closet. I have had the tales from symphonia gamecube before and it comes with 2 jewels that can be swapped out. The first one has the (Lody) character and second one was a standard black nintendo jewel that came on all the other consoles. It is also a japan only console and is region locked for japan discs only. The gameboy startup disc is also the japan region. The console is minty green and the controller and gaboy adapter are also the same to match. Also as a side note, non of the japan gamecubes came with AV cables. This was not released in europe either. I also have had the Hanshin Tigers Gamecube and they also came with a Baseball Jersey with the Hanshin Tigers logo and a Paper Tote bag that has the Tigers logo on it to carry the console home with. I have only seen 1 other of these tote bags and they are really rare! But I have sold the whole gamecube collection off a few years ago. It does not come with 2 jewels, it comes with the Hanshin Tigers logo and not the ? mark logo. I read many years ago that the reason they had the ? mark logo was because they were not sure that the Hanshin tigers were going to win or not and these were made before they won and only the pics had the / mark and none of the real console had that ? mark jewel. But this I can not confirm because it was on a website. But I have never seen that ? mark jewel and I have had a few of these consoles and seen plenty of them in auctions. If that ? logo jewel exists it is ultra ultra ultra rare! I have had almost every one of the limited/special edition gamecubes before and if you have any question let me know. Including the ultra rare final fantasy pearl white console and the Gundam Wavebird. In fact I have had all the club nintendo gamecube controllers.
Wow I never knew that! I thought it was a japan exclusive. I have never seen it for sale anywhere. Was it real low production numbers?
