What is your favorite cover art?

Any system, any region.

I like that of Killzone 2 (although I dislike the game itself a bit, I never was an avid FPS player)

 

So many ha! I'd say my favourite is a tie between Bubble Bobble FMT and Splatterhouse FMT.

Lovely! The Bubble Bobble one is truly beautiful. I also love it a lot, but I do not own the game unfortunately.

Three more favourites of mine:

Phalanx, X68000. The port of this game isn't as good as other X68k games, but the beauty of this cover art always inspired my imagination. As if every shooting game starts with a lot of preparation by an entire crew, loading the ship with ammunition, kerosene et cetera. Fantastic art! I bought the game just to scan and enlarge this image


I also love Rainbow Islands for Famicom... for obvious reasons! I think it captures the playfulness and childlike happiness of the gameplay perfectly in a sugary sweet artwork.


To throw in some newer art - I think Katamari Damashii's PS2 cover is one of the most beautiful covers of the 128bit generation. It looks sleek, is funny, and summarizes the goal of game perfectly in a nutshell.

 

At first I thought that was a book cover, and ironically that game got some of the worst cover art from any SNES game (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/02/Phalanx_North_American_SNES_box_art.jpg)

I can't think of one specific one right now, let me think about it for a while.

 

I'm a fan of the reversible cover that came with soul sacrifice's original release

 

Gotta go with NTSC Ico and Deadly Premonition... wait.

In all seriousness, I've always been a fan of Final Fantasy IX's and X's cover art.

 

I like the Marvel VS. Capcom 3 cover why well there is just alot going on

 

I remember this gem.

 

I have a copy of that US Phalanx, one of the biggest WTF of gaming IMHO.

 

I really like Star Wars: Rogue Squadron box art, I don't know if it is my favorite but it is one of them for sure.

One of the best games ever made. I still play DOOM every now and then. I use to play it on my 360 but I have since migrated to GZDoom and using the WAD from the SW disc and some old DOOM floppy backups. I still use the 360 controller on there.
