For a billion you can make a plane that will be better and faster than a Concorde and a lot more reliable too. You can even build a SSTO shuttle for that sum if you'll find the right people

Most of them aren't really serious about it. And there's a people ready to give all that money for medical research or something like that. But there's some people thinking about becoming a dictator or something like this, cleaning this consumer society mess and uniting people. Thing is, it's possible and there's a lot of books and even a few real life examples in ancient history but thing is - you just can't do it with just a billion, and THEY got a lot more money, armies etc. And you need to be a political genius to make it happen. Some people thinking current economic model in one day with some сrazy plan? It's just stupid as it will hit poor people way more harder than those corporate oligarchs. Also there's a huge chance that it will only make them way more powerful - they will just drop all that democracy and freedom masks, they will be the lords and you'll be the servant or even slave. Change a police state to a full-fledged tyranny ? Not a good idea. Best way is to develop a new model which takes the best of current and past ones and maybe with some really new ideas.And when today's financial capitalism will fall there will be a better thing ready to replace it. But it's a hard work and most people like to think about some magic wand that can change the world in one day. Real life is more complex thing than video games and movies.
