Want to get a PC Engine but don't know which one

The main game I'm concerned with is Super Raiden. I'm guessing I'll need a Duo or the PCEngine with Super CDROM2 and interface AND the Super System card if I get either the DUO or the seperate items put together??

Or just the duo and I'm all set to play the game? See how confusing this is to me!!

 

Will this setup let me play Super Raiden? Will I need a system card to play that game, or if I get a CD game that is "less" than super, would I need a system card also? Because if I do need the basic kind you listed NFG to play, lets say, Ys 3, which is CDROM and it isnt a Super kind of game, will a Turbo Duo eliminate the need in getting a system card?

With an original white set-up, you may as well just get an Arcade Card Pro as they seem more common. It'll play all CD/SuperCD/ArcadeCD games.

With any of the Duos, you'll only need an Arcade Card Duo if you fancy getting any of the 12 ACD games.

Otherwise a Duo will play all CD and SCD games.

 

Yes you'll need a System Card 3 or higher for Raiden, and yes you'll need a System Card 1 or higher for a non-Super game if you use a PCE & CDROM.

Getting a PCE/Turbo Duo will eliminate the need of getting a System Card 3 or lower because it has a System Card 3 "built in." If you would like to play Arcade CDROM games, you still will need an Arcade Card.

 

and from memory there is v 1.2 system card and one or two titles only run with this card... or maybe I'm dreaming...

looking at my junk box I have both 3.0, 2.1 as well as Game Express cards... and couple of PocketStations I forgot about 'em... heh

still looking for Arcade Pro as I have Arcade Duo but sold my PC Engine Duo box set few months back... wish I didn't sell it now come to think of it...
