    I deleted it because

    1. Off topic nonsense ranting
    2. Detracting from the subject at hand

If you want to rant like a bunch of crazies, go use the unmoderated topic.

The immediate attacks upon Karsten, all wrong I might add, show the unwarranted venom.

Any more of this bullshit and I will restrict your posting rights.

I like all of you, but if you continue to fuck up every topic you touch, I will remove you.

A much more productive approach (with a lot less potential for drama) would've been to leave the posts and give a verbal warning to get back on topic. Eh, whatever.

What does a WHOLE page of rants have to do with the new museum?

    NOTHING.

If you want to tear each other to pieces, go use the unmoderated thread.

I am for some form of published material. Is there a way to make something secure? Like a media format that requires a password?

    It's just an idea.

The thing with any kind of media format no matter how secure you try to make it someone will share it down the road.

The last museum he had was pretty much open to the public to view. Won't this be, too? I'm talking about medium-quality pictures, videos, etc?

It doesn't look like the new museum is gonna be too restrictive to common members, the big deal is that not everyone needs 10MB pics or HD videos but like it's free they download them anyway. That uses a lot of bandwidth and raises the server costs. So if you really want the high quality pics it wouldn't mind you to spend some bucks for them and you would be helping to keep the museum alive too.

Yeah, you would problaby want to use smaller file size pics for the public areas, and save the high quality stuff for the paid people.

I'm all for there being a printed magazine, I'll even contribute money and whatever material I have. However you'd probably be better off with a PDF version, just less hassle and investment on your part.

If you optimize the pic a bit it will be smaller in size... i have cropped it and compressed it again as jpg, it is now half the filesize and no difference in imagequality.

    The result:

I want to read longer articles and view a respectable amount of pictures in paper only. I would settle with PDF's as I could print them very comfortably. I'd pay for PDF's if I know what's in them is interesting, which in this case I'd bet they are.

Well I build a light box and began to experiment.

I have a big problem with the yellow images you get with fluorescent bulbs.

I did a bit of correcting and resized the image down to a more sane
    size of 2650xwhatever

I could use some help in finding a good compression, right now I'm using an old version of paint shop pro and it just butchers the images in compression.

Your camera (G10? ) should have the option were you manually can choose whitebalance, "Fluorescent" would be one of it's options.

    The lightbox looks cool!

Anyway, can't we just be glad that the museum will be back some time soon?
