How the hell did they get away with that! They haven't even tried to hide the fact it's a pure rip-off.

Man doom had and was inspired by some of the best music.

Metallica's Kill em all album, Pantera, AC/DC Etc. Robert Prince had damn good music taste.

Good question! Guess it wasn't caught wind of fast enough or just no care was ever given.

Great finds! I love seeing new stuff pop up in this thread. I never knew about a lot of these!

I found the Doom OST pretty obvious, it was a good thing! =]

Storm Master by Silmarils, this is based off a famous painting whose painter or name I can't remember:

I also remembered that the Realms of Arkania series and Spirit of Adventure had a ton of celebrity-lookalikes. Collected some of them here: www.hardcoregaming101.net/arkania/arkania5.htm
(scroll down a bit past the Spirit of Adventure review)

It's more like, Battle Garegga takes inspiration from the general types of synthesizer sounds used, Chord Rhythms and structure. But there are many things done very differently between the songs. One is hardly a rip-off/copy/plagiarized off the other.
And if was and people sued someone, then music as a whole would fall to it's knees.

There are SO many, really, many many many many many songs out in the world that use similar Key's, rhythm styles and most often Chord progressions.

For all I care, I could say I invented the i VI III VII (in a minor key)progression in 4/4 time with each chord taking up a bar for a 4 bar progression. Provide proof and then start suing the pants off every band (read: like a billion)/musician that has used my music in this exact manner.

People use reference material all the time for thousands of different purposes.

It's like saying, that since I had someone pose for me to draw something that i'm stealing their likeness and body position as well their human anatomy.
