Whoever's selling that Code Veronica Dreamcast on eBay is walking away with a nice pocket full! Never realised some LE Dreamcasts were worth that much...

The Res Evil one is going for peanuts compared to the Maziora issue, that one goes for thousands.

This one's currently sitting at £7000. I'd post a link, but not sure if I'm allowed. :/

That's about three times too much. I have some doubts that the winner will pay in the end, but if yes, lucky SirGadget!

Cool. Well, assuming we're allowed to post eBay links, here's the one I was looking at...

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dreamcast-Biohazard-Code-Veronica-S-T-A-R-S-Limited-Ed-/150597889499?_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D5%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D8942814984994044144

Ah, SirGadget! Hope everything pulls through for you!

There's a Maziora on ebay for £1.7k, no bids. Where's the £7k one? I think the link is allowed if it's just for discussion purposes.

Personally I don't see the point of buying an LE Dreamcast then sticking it on a shelf, they should be played to death - you only need to preserve one of them for future generations, not all of them.

I'd like a Maziora, but I'd also be content with a black shell and a clear/smoke lid with a couple of red LED's thrown in there... shame the replacement shells are harder to find than the LE Dreamcasts (unless you want shit colours like piss yellow or snot green) :p

If someone really wanted to preserve them for future generations the best course of action would likely be to donate it to the Smithsonian. Granted it'd probably get stuck in an environmentally controlled warehouse for the next 15 years while they work on existing backlog, but at least it'd be safe from floods, fires, etc.

I dont understand why LE consoles are worth so much and other collectables (because who would buy an R7 DC to play?) aren't. I can buy a 1/1000 figure for £30 MOC. Generally you wouldn't buy these to open because they are collectable but there are =double the number in existence and more than double the price!

They did cost a lot more than 30 GBP in the first place and were only available in a very limited way (i.e. DreamcastDirect shop). Furthermore we've got a classic demand & supply-situation here, very less people care about a supposedly special figure than about a unique console that every Dreamcast fanatic is after.

A cult console in a very unique color with a run of a few hundred units is something a lot more people are interested in than, for example, a picture-LP of an unknown bad metal-band of which only 200 copies exist.

It looks like a normal case mode from hong kong. Nothing too special I'm afraid but it does look good.
