    no and no.

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/robocop.html The prerelease for the 2006 release got bad press for it's image quality. The released version is awesome. I just wish there was more bonus features.

From what I just read it's the same terrible ending as the original version of the movie, although the inclusion of the Black Freighter stuff does sound really cool.

Well that answers my question :)

I do love the Ghostbusters Blu ray and total recall looks awesome too since that was brought up. I have something like 43 blu ray titles now and almost all of them are good transfer. I'm watching back to the future now while windows update does it's thing and that's probably the best transfer I've seen.

Obscure movie lovers should check out the Criterion issue of Tokyo Drifter that's probably the 2nd best transfer I've ever seen, Plus you see where Tarantino got his ideas for Kill bill.

Yeah I've heard bad things about Robocop too. I still want to pick it up because well, that's a classic. Maybe later I'll post some pics of my collection so you all can see what I've picked up since buying my player.

The released version looks pretty good. I guess the bad press for the prerelease caused enough rukus to redo it.

I tend to use Blu-ray.com as a reasonable source for reviews (and does a decent number of screenshots with each one).

The real shitty thing about Robocop on BluRay is that there are no extras! What a fucking rip off. The DVD I have is packed full of extras plus I own the Criterion too.

Blade Runner The Final Cut on Bluray is fucking amazing! I own the DVD set that came in the case but even though that is amazing for DVD the latest BluRay release just blows it away. No grain, no over sharp shit and no real fucking about with the audio. It's perfect!

I'm going to sticky this thread as our BluRay thread.

Good call I was toying with naming this the blu ray thread but I had just watched Ghostbusters so..Robocop was a movie I was considering for Laserdisc if I ever got a player.

Criterion is probably my favorite distributor They do transfers better than even major studios do. Tokyo Drifter was such a great Transfer I never would have thought it was a Japanese movie form the 60s Hara Kiri was great too though that was letterboxed and in Black in white (2:11 film)

I'm looking for the best Terminator 2 Blu-Ray, and by the sounds of things the Skynet Edition is the one to go for... Anybody clarify this?

I have the Skynet edition and it is indeed amazing for audio and image quality. You can't go wrong with that version. I don't like the way the deleted scenes and extended scenes are done since they play in a box along with the main movie. That is a fucking stupid idea. But apart from that it a great BluRay to own.

I also recommend the skynet edition. I think there's a way to watch the extras without it being in a little box, because I don't recall them that way...

I have a copy of the Ultimate Edition DVD of T2. The Skynet Edition on BR is awesome, but fails on the special feature front, by comparison. My solution? I swapped the case of the BR out to a double disc, threw the bonus disc from the DVD in there. If you want the best of both worlds, that is the route i suggest going, unless they wise up and release a better package of the Skynet Edition.
