I'll buy. I just picked up your Everdrive-MD, Krikzz. It's almost here per the tracking ID.

What is the price looking at?

I'd buy sooner if there was a group buy option.

    Wynd

I have been looking forward to Super Everdrive with DSP1 support

Can you solder a DSP1 directly, or do you need to add any SMD components as well?

if you want to install dsp, then you should provide clock generator aslo. you can use 7.6-8mhz ready to use generator as this
or build same generator as used on original carts. for this generator you need 74hc04 and few resistors. pads for 74hc04 exist on severdrive board

Hmm, do you sell version with 74HCU04 and SMD capacitors/resistors on board? I dont mind soldering DIP components like DSP1 and clock generator crystal, but small SMT components are a real pain to solder. Also can you use original X1 crystal from game PCB?:-

I guess you cant use original 74HCU04 chip because it is DIP not SOP package.

All I need is the solder points on the chips, you mean the edge connector?

old carts have not a place where you can solder dsp

i think that only way to inmplement dsp1 on old severdrive 1.2 that is tototek t-connector or soldered in parallel pin-to pin original cart with dsp, but without rom and sram chips

Will there be a guide on what and where to solder to get DSP support? Ok, I got the DSP chip itself and the crystal, but are there pads/holes for crystal and all the other components like resitors, 74hc04 etc.?

Edit: Isn't it easier if you offer the new PCB version with everything presoldered except the DSP chip itself for the current group buy? I'm quite sure this would make a lot users happy and even some from the first group buy would get the new version (including me)?!

i will not solder components for dsp1 clock generator because in this case i should be solder components for all other carts or other people will be resent. i assured that anyone who able to solder dsp1, will be able to assemble clock generator too.

    now about generator:
i make a very stupid mistake in pcb - i forget about pads for crystal, so i used small drill for make a holes.
for generator i use 74hc04 ic in soic package, anybody could bought them on ebay, here for example.
also need one 1mohm resistor, i think that i will preinstall this part.
quartz crystal can be taken from original dsp board.

pin4 of 74hc04 should be cut off
on attached macro photo shown as all should be looks

They're both sold out! Krikzz (given your comment about being low on DSP-1 chips), say I were to mail you a DSP-1 cart, what would it cost for you to use that chip, and mail me back a completed Everdrive?

I'm just thinking of the economics of this whole new DSP-1 thing...

I mean, the new Super Everdrive is incredible and i'm so excited to hear of the DSP-1 support, but are we now going to see a scarcity in DSP-1 chips because flash cart owners will want to butcher up Mario Kart carts..just to be able to play Mario Kart on the super everdrive or other future flash carts?

Below is a list of all DSP-1 games (wikified):

Armored Trooper Votoms: The Battling Road DSP-1 1993 Takara (JP)
Bike Daisuki! Hashiriya Kon - Rider's Spirits DSP-1 1994 Genki NCS (JP)
    Final Stretch
    DSP-1 1993 Genki LOZC (JP)
Lock-On / Super Air Diver DSP-1 1993 Vic Tokai Vic Tokai
Michael Andretti's Indy Car Challenge DSP-1 1994 Genki Bullet Proof Software (NA) (JP)
    Pilotwings
DSP-1 1991 Nintendo EAD Nintendo (NA) (JP) (EU)
Shutokō Battle '94: Keichii Tsuchiya Drift King DSP-1 1994 Genki Bullet-Proof Software (JP)
Shutokō Battle 2: Drift King Keichii Tsuchiya & Masaaki Bandoh
    DSP-1 1995 Genki Bullet-Proof Software (JP)
Suzuka 8 Hours DSP-1 1993 Namco Namco (JP)
Super Air Diver 2 DSP-1 1995 Asmik (JP)
Super Bases Loaded 2 / Super 3D Baseball
DSP-1 1992 Jaleco Jaleco (NA) (JP)
Super F1 Circus Gaiden DSP-1 1995 Nichibutsu (JP)
Super Mario Kart DSP-1/1B 1992 Nintendo EAD Nintendo (NA) (JP) (EU)
Touge Densetsu: Saisoku Battle DSP-1 1996 Genki Bullet-Proof Software (JP)
Ace o Nerae! 3D Tennis DSP-1A 1993 Telenet Japan Telenet Japan (JP)
Ballz 3D DSP-1B 1994 PF Magic Accolade (NA)

Now, before you miss the intention of my post, my point is the following: Can the DSP-1 chip be manufactured in any way?

Otherwise, we are just going to see a huge demand for the above games, but only to butcher up their carts for the DSP-1 and send them to the landfill. Does this sound feasible to you? It costs approx $10-$15 USD for the used carts of pilotwings and mario kart (most of the others in the list above are rare games -especially the JP games- so i'm guessing they would cost more).

Is it really true the SNES PowerPak uses actual DSP-1's chopped from game carts? This sounds insane, these DSP-1 game carts aren't in production anymore so it feels like we should be preserving them and not chopping them up..

I guess a mass production of DSP-1 chips would be much better, but high cost associated with that..
