    Hi everyone!

In the last couple of years this genre of game became very popular among smartphones and touchscreen tablets users. For example, games such as Subway Surfers, Temple Run, Candy Crush, Fruit Ninja or Knights and Dragons are widely played around the world. Almost everyday in the subway I see people playing on their phone.

I was just wondering first of all if you play some of those games and also what is your opinion about casual games?

    :encouragement:

i don’t bother with much mobile games nor with social games, and tablets i have no interest in.

i have played a few android games such as angry birds but simply to alleviate boredom when going through bouts of insomnia.

if i want to play some games on the go i'd go for "real" games and bring a PSP or other portable console

I play some of them some time when I'm bored ie while the Mrs is shopping, touch control are frustrating at times.

There are only 3 games that I would rate on phones/tablets, Infinity Blade I&II and Airmail.

I do a lot of commuting, so I use a Galaxy Tab 7" as an e-reader to kill time on the train (and the tablet is great for that, I'd really recommend it), and I'd love to play games on it, but I hate touch-screen controls. I've tried and tried but I can't get used to it. I don't play games on my mobile (if I can even find it), as my eyesight isn't too great with such a small screen, plus phone controls aren't ideal.

I call these "toilet games" because the only time I'm playing one of these swipe-to-win running games is when I'm in the can

And I'm being polite, could always say "shitter games" and also make commentary on the average level design quality

Ridiculous Fishing is fantastic if you can get over the tilt-based controls.

Organ Trail is a way better Oregon Trail than the actual iOS Oregon Trail.

Letterpress is great too. Worth the $1 to play more than one game at once.

All those "phone" games are cheap shit IMO. I don't play them at all. I do play games on my phone but I use a bluetooth controller dock that makes it a handheld console. I mostly play real console style games such as Rapid GP or Afterburner Climax. I also play RPGs on it. RPG games are ideal for a phone and a million time better than some stupid touch or tilt screen crap that has no content at all. I'm up to the final battle on Final Fantasy 4 right now.
