I'm looking for all the different models, but they must have no modifications done. Anyone who can supply multiple models is most welcome! Condition is not so much a worry as long as they are somewhat functional, cosmetics are not an issue.

    Models Wanted:
    SCPH-1000
    SCPH-300X
    SCPH-500X
    SCPH-550X
    SCPH-700X
    SCPH-750X
    SCPH-900X
    SCPH-100 or SCPH-101
    SCPH-102

    Models Acquired:
    SCPH-1001 (Thanks @Digmac)
    SCPH-1002 (Thanks eBay)

You be surprised! I've found a guy in the US Selling busted ones for cheap and he combines shipping. No way I'm paying $60 a pop here in Australia! I think eBay might be doing a prank on me... They aren't worth that much are they?

Shane where in aus are you? I have a stack of loose ps1s, various models. Would only really be viable if you're near me though.

I think this list in the first post covers the most popular ones, was there much variation between boards PU-XX-wise?

You have no idea how bad the local supply is, unless I go to a cash converters like @HEX1GON suggested... but I am lazy - to my door everything must come!

Heyyyyy @someguyihate Wedged between Sydney and Newcastle these days. I'm good to pay postage - I swear!

Not very much. Was assuming you were going for every model (I know there's a few more than this) so I wasn't expecting you to go by MOBO too.

Ohhhh, not yet, maybe. Mainly for the modchips, just to get nice photos of the solder points. Stock photos, then I'll sell them... for pennies! Or just release them on my website with all the other photos... damn that reminds me I need to finish uploading everything!

I'm in Melbourne, I'll pull them all out and see what models I have then let you know how much I think postage would be.

There were 2 PU-7 variants - the later one had a different (although very similar) CD-ROM interface chip and a couple of other parts removed (presumably for cost reduction).

The PU-8 went through multiple changes - the earliest versions were very similar to the late PU-7s, the later ones went through a new CD DSP, CD MCU, audio DSP, CPU, GPU and video RAM. If you're thinking that sounds like most of the machine, you are correct. Electrically, the last PU-8s were very similar to the PU-18, although the layout was completely different and the PU-18 lost the RCA jacks.

Interestingly, in Japan the major changes got a new part number, but the NTSC:U/C and PAL versions stuck with SCPH-1001 / SCPH-1002.

Seems excessive to buy them just for pictures. I'm sure people here could help with pics.

I've been meaning to buy a scanner for this type of thing.

Now that is interesting! I do enjoy a good set of RCA jacks on my main console though :)

It's for the sake of documenting, of course it sounds excessive for the small goal here - but if you look at the albums you'll see Saturns and all that jazz. I think @Druid II was able to use some for whatever he was up to. I suppose the read goal is just to have decent photos of all consoles and their bits and pieces. Not excessive in my eyes. For science!

I dont mean pictures being excessive. Getting them shipped from all over the world, when its likely much easier and cheaper for people to just take pictures.
