Want to paint color of sidecar paint or get new color for a grey xbox 360 sidecar I have. Planing to replace my zephyer xdk case with my halo 3 console case and get custom golden look for the sidecar. I'v seen it done before, can anyone here do anything like that? If so how much? XDK with sidecar Want to a xdk with a sidecar. looking for a price range 400-500[/B]
Would have 1 of 2 effects. 1) People like it and pay slightly more for it or 2) It's now considered a defect and people pay less for it. Just bare this in mind. Also getting it apart is a somewhat bothersome task.
If all you want is just a simple coat of paint, do it yourself, it isn't hard. But if you want somebody else to have a go at it, it might help to mention your location.
99.99% of the time people consider this ruined. Custom goods typically aren't worth much if what you're doing is painting it. Throwing on better AV outputs is generally considered an improvement across the board. It definitely will lose much value for anyone considering it for a collection. Never sure why people want to ruin something unusual when there are plenty of bog standard consoles out there. If you really want to uglify your sidecar you'll probably want to find a local auto painter shop. They'll do a pro job.
I would suggest against painting it. Sidecars look awesome as is and painting it would only de value it.
Yup, should go "well" with some "nice" chrome controllers with those "cool" bullet buttons. But hey, you don't have to defend your choice of color. It's a matter of taste after all. Just don't be surprised if the sidecar's value goes down.
I figured that's the look you were going for based off your earlier comment. I guess I am thinking more about what happens if you want to sell it in the future. But its your sidecar and you can do whatever you want with it. If you paint it you should at least post some pics when its done
I'm thinking about taking it to a automotive body shop. WHat kind of paint is that/mirroir paint? Chrome gold?
don't see the issue, i'm considering painting a GEN1 sidecar chrome blue for my xna, since a GEN2 XNA sidecar will never surface for sale, so i gotta do what i gotta do. Paint to your hearts content, just don't expect resale value.
why are u in so many memes lol. is chrome the stuff u can see yourself in like a mirror? So I would tell the automotive shop chrome gold?
Chrome gold sounds like the right wording. If you can find a better picture to show them as a reference it would definitely help.
Thats actually a good idea bc most paint shops have a computer scanner that can paint match to exact specs. Not sure how those programs deal with a chrome color, but they are spot on when it comes to automotive paints.
It will have to be dipped in something for a chrome effect. No paint can do such an effect... It's not cheap either.
So I called around to my local automotive shops and all of them said they can't do chrome colors. I called some shop in las vegas and they said that it would cost 1000s of dollars + wait time
