Is Strumwind actually out yet? That game looks fantastic. Better than ANY offcial Dreamcast shooter.

thats what you get when they make a console easy to program for (which is a good thing imo)

So what's your question actually? There were a handfull of full homebrew games BEFORE the Dreamcast was killed off...
    http://www.goatstore.com/Products/Sega/Dreamcast/
    - Cool Herders
    - Feet of Fury
    - Inhabitants
    - Irides: Master of Blocks
    - Maqiupai

If you're asking how many games were released independently:
    http://www.redspotgames.com/shop/
    - Last Hope (& Pink Bullets remake)
    - Dux
    - Rush Rush Rally Racing
    - Wind & Water: Puzzle Battles
    - Fast Striker
    - Sturmwind

    Still in Development:
    http://www.senileteam.com/ageofthebeast.html
    - Age of the Beast (not confirmed to be commercially available or freeware)

I should mention that the DC Evolution forum used to host a shitload of FREE ports and homebrew games until about 6 years ago... Their server got hacked of some sorts and after a while they changed to DreamZoneBoards

    Dreamcast will never die ^^

Okay, commercially it died long ago, but as a Homebrewzombie it will last us for many more years to come.

    Houly gun-lord will be great.
In a technical term of view, Sturmwind does look impressive so far, but doesn't get my attention really.

Every time a homebrew Dreamcast game is released it's the last one ever. My question was how many of them since Last Hope (which was the first last Dreamcast game ever) are there

Since they're not 'officially' endorsed, it's quite hard to tell how many more will come, isn't it?

    This list?

Gun Lord says something about being on NeoGeo. I wonder if they mean MVS or the NGCD. It looks cool though.

The real last DreamCast game, which was that? As in what was the last DC game on an actual GD-ROM disc? I suppose DC having the loop-hole/security issue is a blessing now in that it keeps the system alive among people still interested without Sega's backing.

Stop asking stupid questions, the final game is Karasu as it was the final game that was officially released on the Sega Dreamcast in Japan.

Homebrews do not count in any shape or form as they are unofficial games, and I am sure you'll see homebrew games for many years yet. Despite how commercial they look they are not official games, and they also won't work on the later DCs which does make them nice coasters.

Machines like the Atari 2600 have a good number of homebrew titles published every year. Even the Magnavox Odyssey had a new game made for it not so long ago...

The final GD Rom Dreamcast game was Karous.

But it seems every new homebrew game now is the "last Dreamcast game ever"

and they are higer profile than other games released on dead hardware.

Jamtex: I don't agree, there's a difference between homebrew & indie games that you can actually buy in the form of a hard copy

There's also a difference between Indie and Official Sega-approved GD-Roms. Karous was the last of those and that's that. Everything since is an unofficial Independent release on CD.

If anyone ever called any of them that, then that was a stupid person, cause I don't remember any time a new homebrew came out without the next couple being already in development.

But there are NO Xbox indie games... only ports and homebrew.
Jeez, I think you need to check those terms first?
