It's the future of TV service in the US. For $20 a month you can live stream a handful of popular channels like ESPN, Food Network, A&E, etc. The cool thing is that with a VPN you can watch it overseas, and you can use your login credentials for apps like WatchESPN. They have add-ons for $5 a month. Sony is releasing their own version soon, and so are a couple of other companies. If you didn't already know, HBO is going to offer a stand-alone service on Apple TV soon.

I've had it reccomended to me. My Cable Carrier doesn't have the EL Ray network so this was suggested to me as a means of getting it.

I like this idea a lot. I haven't personally had cable in years because my TV is mainly dominated by video games with a side order of Netflix. This would be a cool way to get a few channels and avoid the lame ones. I always thought cable companies should offer your choice of 10-15 channels at a cheaper price. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

It's pretty rude outside the US - not even a website to show you what you're missing, like Netflix. A plain white page - "The Amazon CloudFront distribution is configured to block access from your country." ;)

Sounds a lot like services we have over here. The main 5 channels all have free on demand services, plus the subscription services like Sky (akin to Verizon, I guess) offer streaming for free to their customers of a fair few channels, depending on their subscriptions. Non-subscribers can also sign up for a streaming-only service they provide.

I've thought about this, I need to compare the channels I watch with whats available for streaming. The Xbox One has a Sling TV app now too.
