Hey! i accidently took my multimeter on the snes voltage regulator ground to ground, and my snes died.
I replaced the fuse and its alive again but no image after the accident?

    Anyone have a clue?

Are you getting 5v on the voltage regulator.

    Are you really getting 26v?

I would just change out the voltage regular and hope your snes is not fried.

The snes takes 5v internally so change out the voltage regular.

The snes psu is unregulated, so with no load the voltage will be much higher than the 10v or so it's supposed to be.

The whole console probably needs to be replaced.

I assume when you say "no image" you actually mean no image, sounds, or anything else.

What did you actually short out?

Ground to ground wouldn't do anything.

I think i linked something on the regulator with the multimeter...

    Anyone?

Hello again! I had the wrong setting on My multimeter i got 10.1v on imput and 4.95 on output so the V-regulator seems to work. Still no image?

Is it big chance that the caps are the problem? I think i accidently bridged ground and R on the voltage regulator:(

Here is a video on the dilemma

i thought this thread was just a joke at first. the 26v made me laugh a little.

have you had a good look around the motherboard for damage? any black marks anywhere, raised caps etc?

Also have you installed a supercic or anything like that? If so, did you remove the original CIC?

If yes to both, did you install the 10kohm resistor required to stop the console being stuck in reset?
