I'm sure everyone noted that when you boot up Sonic the Hedgehog for the Genesis, you get the nice "Sega" voice in the intro. Does anyone remember if any other games used the same voice sample and intro?

Another thing, I remember that some games try to use a similar startup "Sega" screen with Sonic sprinkling stardust on the logo (including synth sound trying to mimic the "Sega" tone). Was there a reason they didn't just use the full voice sample for those games as well? I would have thought that the voice sample was so iconic that they would use it everywhere, but I guess not?

The stardust thing, I think, was only on the Sega CD because that was the only way I recall seeing it.
There is a youtube video with all the startup screens A-Z
Something interesting I noticed while watching it was that Alien Storm startup looks awfully close to the Rare startup used in the SNES minus the sound. Looks like Rare just copied it.

That Sega voice sample is actually from Sega TV ads in Japan way before Sonic came to be.

If I remember correctly it used a lot of space! Something like 1/8th or more of the rom size!

    Golden age sega.
