Sega saturn MultiRegion & 50/60Hz Selectable with CODE NUMBERS??

Seen this here and wondered if this was fake or not? I have never seen or heard of a code number selector mod for the Saturn.

set code to 138 plays USA games
set code to 438 plays UK games
set code to 596 plays JAP games

the mod is just a switch, you can attach any switch you like - including a code wheel. You could use a rock band guitar if you really wanted to... it doesnt mean anything.

 

Still, it's a weird choice isn't it?

 

Yeah, I wouldnt use one of those for the region mod. But each to his own I guess?

 

If you put one wrong number for region code while you powe on the console. Your Saturn motherboard will stop work for good. So this mod is useless and unnecessary.

You always can get Action reply cart that region unlock.

That item on ebay been there sometime now. I saw this month ago.

much like the modding work on this console.... horrible idea + looks

 

The "type of mod" is putting a switch between 2 connections - so yes, you have heard of it.

You can use any switch you like, the mod is exactly the same.

Its still stupid though.

 

ah yes, just to clarify my comment above was about "hearing using this specific kind of switch" which is just horrible like Bad_Ad84 says...

 

Maybe I should put a light sensor on the next saturn I mod.

Play it in the dark, its 50hz. Play with lights on, its 60hz.

 

i would buy that, give it to my friend and watch his brain melt trying to get his head around it

 

Put a GPS sensor in it, make it so it switches regions according to which continent the machine is located in.

Actually, don't modern consoles do that already? Set the machines region accordingly whenever you sign up online?
