Very nice, maybe with an upgrade FPGA chip, we can hope Widescreen or 720P resolution?

    Thanks

I think the only thing that would get me to do this mod is if it works with games that aren't vga compatible.

This is highly unlikely, the best method to play these type of games is to force them to accept VGA by applying a patch on the game and/or bios replacement.

Why would it be unlikely? If he has access to the digital video directly from the source he could deinterlace it (line doubling) and still output 480p no? There might be an added 1-frame delay or something though. Also, if 480i over HDMI is well supported by HDTVs he might not even have to deinterlace on the FPGA itself.

It think uses linedoubling and not true de-interlacing so it isn't true 480p when the incoming signal is 240p or 480i. The adapter is planned to be universal so it will work on more than just the DC.

What's the output with HDMI on DC? 480p or 1080p?

240p, 480i, or 480p. It doesn't have enough memory to upscale.

240p and 480i will have to be linedoubled to 480p in order to display on most HDTVs.

It better have a hardware line doubler or upscaler because most tvs will look terrible upscaling.

I could have sworn he stated he planned on upscalling on the board and even doing some kind of post AA. He said this in the comments on his Tokyo video.
