Seems as if every time I get round to getting a Saturn modded i get some kind of issue arise, albeit every other time its been a lose connector or a rare occurrence with a modchip. But this time its a real problem.
Before installing the phantom I double checked to see the drive still worked, it did. Now after installing the phantom and getting power from the cd drive the drive and the lid switch wouldn't respond in the Saturn's menu. Took the chip out and still no response, tested with a another working drive and still nothing.

My question is, why and what can i do to fix it ?

Do you get a red light on the laser when you hold the lid switch in? Might need to tweak the laser. Maybe something happened to your lid switch when you installed the 5v wire. Also try reseating your ribbon cable's. Make sure there in the right way. Check for bent pins on the cable's themselves. What model saturn is it?

No response out of the 2 drives and lid switch watch so ever, everything else works pretty good though

fwiw this message pops up when the drive is and isnt attached to the console http://puu.sh/o6LxK/8c870cb170.png happens on both drives

Check if you put the ribbon and power connector back right, and not accidentally inverted or so.

Ribbon cable is backwards on the mod chip.

Use a voltmeter to confirm that the 5V is really 5v. Lastly, if you install into model 2, make sure the driver selector pads are soldered correctly.

FALSE ALARM, looks like it was just another simple, 'Not looking to see if the ribbon is in the right way.' My bad guys, Looks like im going to have to start triple checking my work instead of just double. Long nights and frustration does that to you huh
