Do you confirm you downgraded to version 0.831 ?
If so, next version should fix your problem.

No, actually I have never used the pseudo patcher utility.
I have always pseudo patched according to Zorlon's instructions.

I have burned 100+ discs (USA, European and Jap) and apart from a few that still required pseudo patching none has given me region-related trouble. However, pseudo 0.832 shows "Region: Europe" regardless of disc region.

Oops, it seems you were forgotten, sorry.
RAM extension in Action Replay cartridge may have compatibility problem with some games.
I suppose this is a RAM compatibility problem, so if you can try the game with modchip/swap trick and official memory extension, please report if it crashes or not.

What do you mean about "Zorlon's instructions" ? Where are they hidden ?
I really need to gather basic informations like "how to upgrade your Action Replay cart", and "how to backup copy your game" on my homepage, so that Pseudo Saturn would be easier to use.

    > However, pseudo 0.832 shows "Region: Europe" regardless of disc region.

    This point is normal :)
0.832 loader looks for your Saturn's region, and patch the game's IP accordingly.
Information displayed on screen is your Saturn's region, so always displaying the same string is a normal behavior.

I already have a chipped console, but would like to flash an action replay in case my Saturn ever dies in the future.

If I have a chipped Saturn, can I simply put the installer disc and Action Replay into the console and boot it up in order to flash?

Yes. This is the best method in order to upgrade from Action Replay firmware to Pseudo Saturn :)

Question to everyone using Pseudo Saturn : have you ever been kicked back to multiplayer screen when trying to boot a game ?

In advance, thank you for your reports :)

This is not possible. Pseudo Saturn requires a boot cartridge with rewrite access to its ROM (like Action Replay or other clones) in order to run.
(technical note : Backup Memory cart's RAM is mapped to an address different than boot cartridge, and bytes at even address aren't mapped at all, so running code on such cartridge is impossible)

Hi! I have been using pseudosaturn for almost a year and it has been great so far. Thank you for all the work!

My problem is that I wanted to test out Metal Slug, but the game keeps telling me that I need the ram cart. Didn't pseudosaturn preserve the extra ram function? Could my cart be faulty? My cart is a Action Replay Plus 4mb <-> 1mb (3 in one). This is the first time I try to play a game that uses extra ram by the way.

Maybe some of the pins, that have to do with initializing the RAM expansion, are not making proper contact. Try re-inserting the cart, or maybe cleaning the edge of the cartridge that makes contact.

I've cleaned both the Saturn and the cartridge pins, and still cannot play any 1mb or 4mb games. The console even recognizes the official save cartridges every time.

I also searched the web for issues like mine to no avail. think that my Action Replay Plus may be faulty.

There's a reason for their low price : Game Shark doesn't feature extra RAM, and the cartridge connectors have a relatively bad reputation.
As an example, my Game Shark cartridge boots something like that one time out of 20 "power off -> cartridge reinsert -> power on" tries.

You can find new action replay for a decent price in play-asia, maybe you should take a look
