I just want to be sure on the first 3. Xbox One content IS allowed, but PS4 and WiiU is NOT allowed? If so no worries, I'm just wanting me make sure this ISNT a formatting mistake. Regarding the PS3 - once the 4 years time since the game's release it's okay, but what if the release date is different for certain versions (like an AUS release compared to a JP release). Would we wait for the original release or the release date for that version? Also, if unreleased/cancelled (I dont know of any for PS3), is that still allowed to be here or would we go by the original proposed date before cancellation?
Pardon my ignorance, but why would that need clarification in any way? Clearly say NO CONTENT of anything released in the past 4 years. Older than 4 years: Good to go. More recent than that: Big no-no. And given that the topic of this thread is "Rules and and guidelines for sharing files", instead of "Rules and guidelines exclusively for releasing new stuff", I'd wager that this does include builds etc. that may already be publicly available on other websites. Fair and certainly understandable rules, IMO.
Can I just point out that the Yellow coloured text is impossible to see on the White Style Theme, without dragging my mouse over it to highlight it.
Quick question. I was going to upload a small collection of PSP Demo game discs I have, however they contain Movie trailers and Music Videos. Now I know they are Copyright so If I dummy the video files and only leave the demo files is this ok? I just wanna be sure before uploading them as I don't wanna get any one (myself, this forum etc) into bother. Thanks
@ASSEMbler An instance was brought up in the shoutbox regarding games that were SUPPOSED to be released last gen (PS3/360) but instead got a current gen version (Xbone/PS4) instead and last gen versions cancelled (much like the Killer Instinct issue), or they were planned for last gen but moved to current gen. Is there any proposed rule about cancelled/moved last gen games that have current gen releases? If so what would said rule be? My thoughts (or proposal) regarding it are - Yes as it was cancelled, but only released after X time has passed from the launch of the current gen release date. For instance if Killer Instinct was to be released on all platforms on January 1st 2015 (it wasnt), but last gen has been announced to be cancelled before that date, it would seem alright if a 1-2 year wait before releasing it would be acceptable as most sales have been made on the game in this timeframe (this is the alternative to just dropping it on the spot and potentially causing commotion). Thanks in advance.
The problem is afaik not with effecting sales of games but with the exposure newer games would get, With a "big" release media sites would be all over it and then the rights holders would be all over us.
Correct, even if the beta was abandoned ex: battlefront 3, releasing it now would indeed cause confusion and trouble for the developers. You need to respect their primary profit window and not step on toes. You can discuss it, and even link to a page that has it, but you cannot have a direct link to said files on the site. "Here's a link to content" no "Here's a link to a page sharing content" yes
Alright thanks for clarifying. In posting this I received a message asking if I had KI for last gen systems. I want to make it clear that was just an example game to get the question across.
