I was worried about the whole Future Cyborg Cop theme from the 80's clashing with today's culture... but looking at these newer images I honestly hope that they make a CGI suit just like Iron Man was recorded... This doesn't look good at all. What do you guys think?
Didn't even know whe were getting a new RoboCop. Paul Verhoeven did a good job directing it and Basil Poledouris did a good job on the score too. What is the point of the remake, quick cash in? Meh.
verhoven at his best. they just cant do cheese like they could in the 80s lol. There is so much negativity on this forum recently, i prefer to wait till i've seen the move to call it crap. remakes you have got to watch as a stand alone movie, and judge on their own merits. cant really compare them to the originals.
It'll be crap if they can't get the satirical aspect in, if they miss the point it'll just be a stupid movie about a cyborg cop. Kinda like RoboCop 2 and 3.

No it's because the concept is a little silly for a 2012-13's release and the suit doesn't give the feel that only his brains and facial skin are in a robot. By the way that suit looks like a cheaply-made "nanosuit" from Crysis.
Congrats on not reading anything posted in the thread! Although that's somewhat right, some movies just turned out perfect the first time out and don't need a remake, RoboCop is definitely one of them.
Looks like a combo of Tron: Legacy and Deus Ex Human Revolution. Both of which I liked a lot but I prefer the old Robocop attire as it stripped away more of his humanity making the point of the first movie even clearer. With that look he appears more like a human with body armor than machine with a human brain and spinal column. Or maybe that is the point.
Robocop is a difficult one as unlike some other 80s sci-fi, the original feels quite dated nowadays and it was ruined by a couple of sequels. However, this isn't the first time it's been rebooted. Anyone remember the TV series, the 00s 'Prime Directives' TV movies or the 2 animated series?
I remember those. lol As much as I love Robocop, I wish the studios would spend their money on something new and original instead of remakes. If they ever try to remake Ghost Busters or Back to the Future, so help me...
Why oh why do they need to remake Robocop? It's pure classic example that the movie industry is falling apart. The original Robocop is an amazing film that I don't think looks dated at all. It doesn't need a remake.
The Prime directive series wasn't a reboot, it was more of a sequel. Anyway, this suit looks like Guy from Daft Punk fucked The Dark Knight, and some where in the middle of their drunken fuck fest judge dredd came in for a quickie.
I don't think anyone can top something this badass: And I think ED-209 would be great to have as a pet.
