Alex actually didn't do the cracking, he tested it. Original cracker want to stay anonymous.

That said, it still is a hell of a good news! ASSEMbler got the files and should be able to make a cdi easily!

As FamilyGuy actually say, i'm not cracker, i (and Lin) just tested it. Original cracker want to stay anonymous.
After sucess, he ask me create and upload here video. After that we make several final tests, and he send files to FamilyGuy.
    That's all story, guys.

No NullDC or Dreamcast? Man, this guy is good! I wonder if he worked in DC Dev' at some point.

Some news on the fixed version. Seems that geist code is pre-dreamcast hardware.
It has no vmu, no rumble. It also has gigantic draw distance and more polygons than
in most dc games I have ever seen.

So having played it extensively for testing, it is possible to overload and overheat the dreamcast with geist force.

It may be necessary to add a fan to the dreamcast for this game, and for optimal
    gameplay OVERCLOCK the dreamcast.

If you stop shooting during slowdown, the machine does not overheat.
Of course that means during many of the most impressive scenes you must stop playing.

    Thank you very much.

Looks like the cracker has re-complied the bootbin and ip.bin so that they are very different from the "originals". Would be another long code tracing session to fully understand what is going on.

    Cheers.

@Assembler: Time for a watercooled Dreamcast then, eh?
Since they are cheap second hand and I have a pump and res floating around... or maybe heatpipes. Lots of heatpipes.

    :-0

Is this overheating to the point of damage or just shutting down?

I'd guess it would just crash and reset, but that still a bit worrying. Didn't expect to hear this.

Any idea what the difference are between the retail DC and hardware it was coded on? must be fairly minimal if the game can play at all.
