Some nice ideas there, Johnny. I thing System revisions for something like the PC Engine would be great. That is one hell of a confusing system to buy for.
I see you point probably pricing guidelines would be one, gotchas when buying system/common faults (ie. MegaCDs and PC Engine CDs units can be hit and miss given their age), best accessories as mentioned above, betas/unreleased games of significance, shite of the system, your top 5/10...
Thanks. And yes, people new to the PC Engine can easily get confused. Different systems and revisions, different CD drives, system cards... I don't know if it's possible, but what about a system add-ons exclusive episode?
I'd need someone to loan me the hardware and software for that ;( it would be a great episode though. Hmm, interesting point about the common faults. Kind of what people should look out for when buying hardware. Most definitely. When I got in to PC Engine I was completely lost. Such as what's the difference between the core grafx and core grafx 2? Absolutely nothing as it turns out.
Really great video about arcade vertical shooters, with stuff i've never seen. The one with fighter jets and helicopters in space is hilarious! I saw the same fighting stick on CGR recently, was really curious to see the internals. Your initial reaction was spot on, couldn't stop laughing as well. Still, very nice quality overall.
Great stuff Yakumo. Nice to see one show dedicated to such a great machine. I grabbed a Duff (can't get enough of that wonderful Duff!) and some snacks and settled down for a really entertaining 40 minutes. Nice voice over for "Sega Mega Drive" mad me chuckle. Nice selection of games as well. Would have been nice to see a comparison with a Genesis and PAL consoles and maybe some more examples of the game Artwork. Why does the Japanese box art have to be so much better.
Hehe, Wish I could get some real Duff in Japan. Best I can do is the T-Shirt I'd like to do a comparison between western and Japanese MD games but the thing is that I don't actually own any so I'd have to resort to emulation. Something I don't want to do with Retro Core (Besides arcade stuff). In the future though it could be a possibility.
