Its tough too because a lot of people don't really remember the time when things were over-the-top strict. That did drive people away (granted, some of it was again a reaction of what was going on at the time), but people were...reluctant to post.

While I don't have a suggestion at the moment, this would certainly encourage donations. And thank you for clarifying your earlier post.

You know what I like about this forum? I like that admins like @retro and moderators like @Borman can have a healthy discussion with other members; especially about things like site suggestions. I have seen conversations like this turn into yelling matches on other sites. But then again that's why I have stayed here for almost 4 years. :)
Oh and @XboxSurgeon dickbutt posts always make for a good laugh ;)

Which tbh is why I try and have a more satirical demeanor with Dickbutt and the like is to soften moods when things get tense. But admin like them is what helps connect us all in our community.

People who join just to buy an item is fine imo. They have to hand over money to the seller, so the risk is on the buyer, not the seller. The seller can decide whether they feel comfortable selling to this person, but the only real risk is that they buyer claims it doesn't arrive or something like that. But that's why the seller should sell to that person with insurance and tracking.

If the person buying is trustworthy or you're familiar with them, then maybe you can sell to them without the forced insurance and tracking if they choose.

Having a post limit for buying (not for posting WTB threads maybe, but just replying to WTS threads) is detrimental to the site imo. The responsibility of the sale goes to the seller, sure, but it always will regardless of whether the buyer has posted a thousand times or not at all.

Not read all the posts (just the 1st page and a couple on this page) but a few sites i've joined over the years require a 5-10 post minimum for downloading anything (and has to be non spam posts). As the poster above me said it should be on the seller on whether or not to sell to new members (like myself).
A genuine buyer should have no problem paying the seller with PPG if thats the sellers choice so you can feel comfortable that the money is yours with no claimbacks like with ebay.
Adding a post level for selling is different though, anyone could join put something up for sale, get the money and never be heard from again so its understandable in that sense.
I posted in a thread (not sure if here or another new site i joined) on a trade and said as im new i would send my item first if the trade were agreed due to being new.
OP when selling just put in your listing don't PM unless you have a certain amount of posts etc and that should help with the PM's you're getting (unless we all decide to spam you just for the sake of it ;):D:D:D)

No one is pointing anyone out as being one of these members. It's not a witch hunt. It's a democratic discussion which is healthy for all of us as a united community.

I remember when you didn't have to post a validation picture for every $5 game you wanted to sell. Late to the party here (on vacation last week), but still have to vent about that. Validation pics (which can still be faked) and needing to host all pictures here just discourage sales.
