I am looking for anything related to the Command & Conquer series that wasn't officially released to the public but has somehow made it out there. Such as debug builds (for any platform), unreleased tools, technical specs, source code or anything else that may be out there that was created by Westwood/EA but never released to the public officially. I am also after a copy of any Mac versions of the C&C titles (especially Red Alert 3 for OSX) as well as any versions of Command & Conquer Renegade in languages other than English.
I might just keep an eye on this thread too, C&C Red Alert 2 was my favourite out of the bunch, didn't mind the old Red Alert either. Locked and loaded!
I was a fan of C&C, Red Alert and Red Alert 2. Then EA ruined the franchise. I first played C&C on a PC demo in the mid 90's, but I cannot remember what magazine the demo was from.
You can download the original installers from here- EA released them for free but they are no longer on the website. I've heard some of them need to be fiddled with a bit to get to work though.: http://www.cncnz.com/features/freeware-classic-command-conquer-games/ Some of the games may require fiddling to get to work. Update 1.08 for C&C (this is a 16 bit app so you may need a vm to get this to work) ftp://ftp.westwood.com/pub/redalert/updates/RA108USP.EXE Hires patches and other unofficial fixes For command and conquer gold (Complete no-CD game installation pack is a patched installer for gold in case the original doesn't work, along with some extra features ): http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/cnc95upd/cc95p106/
I think the OP is only looking for unreleased content, but other people may find your links helpful. I only mentioned the demo because demo's have been know to contain data which wasn't supposed to be released. A developer has made a pretty cool HTML5/JavaScript version of Command and Conquer which can be played from a web browser: http://www.adityaravishankar.com/projects/games/command-and-conquer/
yeah, i missed that last part. I don't have anything Too rare, but here's some stuff. Mostly demos, but also some promotional images and some other things. Here's Some demos i have C&C 3 demo (from ea's old ftp) http://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/demos/CommandandConquer3/ Some artwork and wallpapers from CC3 promotions- http://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/misc/c_c/ Command and conquer Generals demo: http://www.fileplanet.com/129401/120000/fileinfo/Command-&-Conquer-Generals-Demo Original Comand and conquer demo: https://archive.org/details/CommandConquerDemo Command and conquer red alert demo: http://www.fileplanet.com/11421/10000/fileinfo/Command-&-Conquer:-Red-Alert-Demo
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread too. Well, for anything Tiberian Sun and older. That was the last great C&C IMO. One of my favorite series when I was younger.
Some stuff marked as beta is on that FTP @seandc02 linked. ftp://ftp.westwood.com/pub/redalert2/ ftp://ftp.westwood.com/pub/redalert2/RA2MATCHFILTER_BETA.ZIP ftp://ftp.westwood.com/pub/redalert2/fa2beta/FA2BETA1.EXE ftp://ftp.westwood.com/pub/redalert2/fa2beta/FA2YR101.EXE Never played these games so unsure if related, if not just say and i'll delete the links. EDIT: http://www.tibed.net/tibed1/faq more info about that beta stuff seems to be on here but not read fully but hope it helps.
None of the stuff linked so far are things that weren't released generally to everyone (which is what I am looking for).
https://tcrf.net/Proto:Command_and_Conquer:_Generals I found the one working prototype of command and conquer generals, if that helps. Alpha 98: http://www.moddb.com/groups/command-conquer-westwood-fans-ea/downloads/generals-alpha-build-files
Thanks, that may be interesting although from the looks of it its just a bunch of art files and things and doesn't have anything technical related to the game (e.g. executables that might contain useful info etc) Yeah it seems like that has everything except the actual executables for the game (likely because those had watermarks or copy protection or something)
The early tech demo of C&C Commando (Renegade) for Playstation, which was never completed, can be found here on the forum.
