Region mod help please for TurboGrafx

Hi - help please!

I have made an 8P2T switch and wired my US TubroGrafx in accordance to the diagram below - it plays US games fine, but refuses to work with my Japanese games.

What else do I need to do to make this work please?



As you see from below, I am at the last stage of the wiring for the system; I have already successfully rewired most of the game pins as I had to make the board smaller to fit into my case:



As you see, I am hardly a noobie!

So, help please - I have a few Japanese games I want to play on this!

 

Turned out I had some gunk in the switches which stopped some of them making proper contact. Sorted this out.

I got this to work, I can play US and Jap games now fine on the system.

 

Can you show your custom case? I'm really interested now.

 

Sure, same vacuumed case as I used for the PSone system (as per my sig and site).

 

Very nice! Hey do you happen to have any controllers laying around? I just got a Turbografx off ebay and the freaking thing didn't come with controllers. They're virtually impossible to come by in my area and Ebay is out of the question as I don't have a credit card/checking account.

Wow. If I ever come across a broken NEs controller. This will be on my to-do list.

 

I have some spare NES controllers. If anyone needs some, let me know.

I spent a long time doing what research on the TurboGrafx / PC-Engine I could, came up with lots of interesting stuff.

I have a proper TG-16 controller, which I will use in my project, however the link I gave above (pleased you liked it darkportrait) will be useful to people who don't have one, as they can adapt their own controller.
