Hey guys, I found a Radon DV1 wireless prototype controller. It was missing the battery pack and I used just a normal pack to see if it works and it does not. Are these supposed to function or do I have a defective/broken controller?

Depends, but you also seem to find a lot of cool Xbox stuff. Got pictures? Does it have a home button?

I have 2 types of Radon prototypes one is an early EVT2A and the other is a DV1 most likely like yours. However the early one is a non-working sample with the DV1 being a functional version. You could either have a sample of the DV1 or it could be defective like you think. Some pictures of the battery connectors would help figure that out as a sample probably wont have any ports.

Does it work with a cable attached to it? Also seems to be in very good condition.

Unfortunately I do not have a cable as of right now to test it.

Yea, it's exactly like the one I have. I would test with the play and charge cable like Syclopse recommended. Hopefully it's just that connector and not the entire board that is shot... Great looking proto ;).

Well I charged it for a while and it was not working, then I looked over later and 3 green lights around the ring were on but when I pushed the jewel it turned off. It seems defective but it is great to have one in the collection for cosmetic purposes:) By the way drahcir, your youtube video on these was very informative.

Sorry to hear that... but like you said it's still a great piece to have in your collection. Who knows may even start an addiction to find others ;). Thanks for thinking so about the video :).
