Oh, it is possible to restore deleted saves ?
I added this idea in my todo list and will see if it can be implemented easily.

Well, I prefer not to add such a feature, because there's no performance problem, even when saves are fragmented, and I don't want to break something that works fine as-is.

That's cool, cafealpha2. Keep going with your work.

By the way, I contacted Kent, the dude who created the SegaSaturn USB (and BlueTooth) Datalink. He is a super nice guy. You can contact he to exchange some knowledge. He even said he put his work open course (under eMail request). So, if there's something can be useful to improve each other's softwares, I believe the result will be awesome for both!! :)

I wonder exactly what does it work with then, because it cannot even open the backup cart I dumped. Nor can any emulators for that matter. Emulators and this app expect the save cart to use 512byte sectors, but most carts use 256byte. I had to write my own extractor and ask Madroms to make an app that can write the extracted saves back to the Saturn.

Well... I made the test using the saves was extracted by Kent (creator of the USB Datalink) and made available in his page (more precisaly, HERE). Some files was able to restore deleted saves. Late, I made the test using a save file from an emulator (I loaded two games and deleted one of them). The SSBKM don't restored the deleted file in this case.

Those all seem to be dumps of the internal memory, not the cartridge memory. Makes sense since an action replay is used for dumping them.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I prefer to do Saturn things by myself only.
I have enough team work at real work.
BTW, I make USB dev cartridges.

Maybe BIOS completely deletes internal backup data, but only remove index/whatever for cartridge data.
Or, did you used Saturn BIOS with your emulator ?
Behavior of internal BIOS provided by SSF/yabause may be different from original BIOS, hence data can be differently removed.

I used Yabause to loading the games and create the saves, and I deleted the chosen file by running the Saturn BIOS in this same emulator.

so, interesting lil bits of info here.... Cafealpha2: I bought one of your dev carts from you last year. I also own both versions of Kent's USB Datalink hardware on top of a floppy drive. nice to see this rolling, perhaps i need to do more testing with you :D found this while trying to figure out how to get my Psy-Q modified system working.
