PS2 Hardware Documentation and Service Manuals

The DTL-T10000 manual seems to have one less line within the unit feature section than the one that I have (for the DTL-T10000H J), but my Japanese is very weak and I don't think that I can give a good translation.

It's written as 「いろいろなＰＣカードを使用できるＰＣ　ＣＡＲＤ差込口を装備しています」, which I think means something along the lines of "It has a PC CARD slot that can support various PC cards". So it's possible that this thing supports generic PCMCIA cards as well, I suppose?

Also, the manuals both say that the "WorkStation" mode is for stand-alone development on the TOOL, but it comes without the necessary software installed by default. Does anyone have a TOOL that can go into WS mode, when WS mode is selected (via that selector switch on its front) before the unit is switched on?

If so, doesn't this mean that it was always possible to develop PlayStation 2 software on the TOOL itself? Even at the end of its lifespan? Except that it wasn't doable out-of-the box.

Unfortunately, there is no information on the D-chassis SCPH-30001 unit.

 

Does a Japanese edition of PlayStation 2 Runtime Library exist?

 

As far I know, the runtime library releases have documentation in both Japanese and English. Most people trading the files are not Japanese and don't think twice to simply delete the Japanese .PDF and HTML files to save space.

I had a look on what I have and apparently SCEI had already stopped shipping Japanese documents on SDK 3.0 to non Japanese developers.

Japanese doc for release 2.0 would help?
