I'll put it this way -- I didn't make backups until my 2nd round of sales. But I still have that Sonic and a few other protos, inc. Cyborg 009. I guess if you want to count backups I might actually have about 6 of them.

I only wish I'd have backed up Tsubasa and a few others, including those unreleased games. I do know they went to a good collector, so they're in safe hands. :) I always feel good about that.

Mega CD is one of my favorite systems, I desperately want all of those unreleased games. A handful have already found their way onto the net, as shite ISO/MP3 SegaXtreme-esque rips.

I have to brake the bad news to you mate. Detonator Orgun isn't an unreleased Mega CD game. I have the original. Look.

Mega Schwarzchild isn't unreleased either. I think he meant those are the only protos he kept.

Kyuusaku is indeed correct. I know the original betas I have are indeed games that have gone onto be released. I was referring to Burning Fists and Alpha Fighter as the two that were unreleased (and subsequently sold a couple of years back).

In fact, I owned Detonator Orgun and Mega Schwarzchild myself until recently. I've been collecting for the system (and the Mega Drive) for about 7-8 years now, but that whole economical nosedive a few years ago sure took the wind out of my sails.

Once I can find a reliable deputy in Japan again, I intend to ramp up the rate I'm collecting, now that I've got a decent job again. Well, that and hoping the Dollar goes up versus the Yen once more. 103:1 isn't favorable to me at the moment.

Kyuusaku, are you perchance the same one I see over at Tototek's forums?

Once while browsing a pawn shop I noticed mint copies of FF: Mystic Quest Legends, Secret of Mana, and Secret of Evermore (all PAL) going for $13AUD.

    I bought all 3 in a heartbeat. :smt023

Bought a CDI-450 system in good condition with pad for 6e last weekend at the market, the guy said he wanted 10e for it but before I could respond he said "7,50 will be fine" and then I lied about having only 6e and he agreed :smt040

This seems like nothing compared to some of your replies but I was happy when this happened to me. I got a working genesis with a SegaCD and 15 games, 2 controllers. and a 32X with three games for free. They are now sitting right next to my Dreamcast, PS2 and Gamecube and still get used on a weekly basis because to me nothing beats a game of Final Fight on the SegaCD.

One more reason to go to Bristol! Say, on my trip to Japan I'll be making a stopover at Heathrow and I got 4 hours in between, you think it would be enough to take the train to Bristol and snag up some games? :smt033

I bought a used GameCube at the local gamestop for $139.99 (back when the new ones were $150) My friend warned me against getting a used one even though they were tested and all that crap.
I took it home and it worked great. Never had a problem with it.
One day I was hooking it up to my PC's Capture card to get a screenshot of something and found one of them switches that older consoles used for Channel 3/4 switches, It took a second to register that the gamecube would have no such switch. So I switched it over and this screen came up http://www.lanpirates.net/misc/gcnwtf.jpg
Telling me that the game in my console was not japanese and that I couldnt play it.
