I cannot understand why both of my games will not load. I can get past the Nintendo screen but then I get a blank screen, nothing else loads. Would that be a battery issue? I tried opening both carts and nothing looks out of the ordinary. I even cleaned the contacts real good, even though they weren't that dirty. I only have a GBA and other games including my Pokemon Silver works on it, so it's not my GBA. Anyone have any idea what it could be?
I don't think it's a battery issue as a dead battery will just make it so saves don't stay saved. I'm not sure what is causing it. Could be a bad trace or component somewhere.
Best thing would be trying the game on another system first... just cause it works for your other game doesn't necessarily mean there's no issue with the system.
Most likely a bad trace or a failed component.I've had a Pokemon blue with the same issue once. I never bothered with fixing most games unless they're rare or expensive. Usually with the SNES/N64 carts it takes a wire to fix them when a trace goes bad. Pull out your multi meter and check for continuity.
Reflow all the chips. I had a copy of Pokemon yellow with cold joints on all the chips. It's a common problem.
