Recently I came across this copy of Shadow of the Beast II Mega CD-R. Now, I was wondering, how can I try this out? Now, I only have a Sega CD, so is it still possible to play it somehow with that? Possibly a swap trick?

As far as I know the Sega cd has no protection so you should be able to just play any cdr on it. Have you tried doing that yet?

The Sega CD has only region restrictions. If you want to try it you can just use an emulator.

GENS has extremely good SegaCD support, just need to feed it the BIOS for the correct region.

Theres also a tool which will convert the region of any sega CD iso. You could then burn it back to disk and try it then.

I think its called scdconv, try hunting for it on zophar.net

    EDIT: It's here http://www.zophar.net/utilities/segacdutil.html

Haha, yeah, finally got it working today. I'll have to look at pictures of the retail to see if there are any differences, as I don't have the actual release game.

Oh my, I also got Dracula working for the Sega CD. Talk about crappy. When you lose all your lives, you see the dumbest screen ever of what appears to be Keanu Reeves grunting like he's about to blow a load.
