Gamechoice is reputable. What does Lingjr claim? Use better speakers than what? The included ones? Do you want this as a collectible or to use as a general purpose amp? Your TV already amplifies the line coming out of the console and so will any other audio amp/receiver and they'd probably do a far better job than the AMP-30 but the AMP-30 will prolly cost less. About price, they're somewhat obscure so people spend all sorts on them, I've seen as low as $30, but I don't go looking for them. I'm sure Gamechoice is overcharging at whatever their price.
Not as a collectable, just a neat item. I run all my consoles through a stereo mostly, thought it might be ccool to have my briefcase sitting atop of this and use that for dedicated sound.
