    Hey, Assembler's.
I've found this to be a surprisingly polarizing debate among Bond fans. Some people really like the current somber Bond movies, while others prefer the classic, "high-octane action" films.

My personal opinion is that I don't care much for the grimdark Daniel Craig Bond. My "go-to" is, as any video game fan could probably guess, Goldeneye. For me, it has everything: Extravagant lairs, quirky foes, unnecessarily souped up chases. (Bond in a tank.) It's simply a fun watch.

So, what do you like: Somber Daniel Craig Bond, or classic [Insert Actor Here] Bond? Why?

He's as good as Connery and that's saying something. Casino Royal and Skyfall are my two favorite bond films.

Initially I wasn't sure how well of a fit he would be, but he is helping lead Bond to modernization. I find this to be a good thing. Every Bond after Sean Connery felt like they were trying to replicate Connery.

I liked Skyfall. Then again, I think any previous Bond could've done it just as well. The only thing I don't like about Daniel is his attitude towards the industry. Making a movie is exhausting which I get, but saying he'd rather die than make another Bond film is such a dramatic overstatement from someone who hates his job. It's not like he won't be paid well..

I think Casino Royale is overrated and its "classic Bond is sooo lame!" attitude hasn't aged well (especially the "Do I look like I give a damn" martini scene). Decent movie but they could've also cut the unnecessary ending part. Skyfall moved in a whole different direction with Q, Moneypenny, the gadgeted Aston Martin DB5 and an actual sense of humor, which I enjoyed. Quantum of Solace is just shit from beginning to end, and feels more like a Bourne ripoff than a Bond movie. Overall, the move towards "realism" is something that seems out of place considering how absurd the concept of James Bond is to begin with.

As for Craig himself, he's just boring and has exactly one facial expression, even though his performance in Skyfall had some actual personality and impressed me a little. Still, if we're not counting Lazenby, he's by far my least favorite of all the Bond actors.

I love Daniel Craig as Bond. Sad to here after the current upcoming movie he's only doing one more and even then he doesn't really want to do that.

Am I the only one here who like Pierce Brosnan?
His Movies and the ones with Sean Connery are the best imo.
Daniel Craig is ok, but the movies has kind of lost their soul imho

I thought Skyfall was a great movie, but I just never really cared for Daniel Craig as Bond. He just doesn't have the right look or swagger to him. Guy looks more like Putin than Bond IMO. As far as who I thought fit the part best as an actor, I would have to say Brosnan. Only problem is that Goldeneye was his only great film. As far has who made the most consistently great Bond films, that would have to be Connery. Roger Moore was ok but was no Connery. Some of his expressions bordered on goofy at times. Timothy Dalton... Let's just forget about that.

I actually really liked Roger Moore for some reason. He's definitely second for me.

Pierce Brosnan had the best look & sound for bond, but lackluster acting at times. I think Daniel Craig is pretty damn good, though, & I despised him at first.

Brosnan love....crazy people. Goldeneye aside his films were a travesty to the franchise. The most limp wristed bond of the lot too imo.

Those of you slating Craig Bond, I guess have no idea what real Fleming Bond should be. Quite dark, quite brutal, think early Connery dark. Craig gets rather close tbh.

Honestly only Lazenby, who wasn't an actor, was really lackluster as Bond. I've enjoyed the rest. Brosnan always performed well IMO, and carried himself off screen as well in a Bond-way. Goldeneye was magnificent, TWINE is okay, but the other two were the worst Bond films by far. Craig is probably the best "actor" they've had in the role, and I've also found his portrayal as 21st-century Bond very good. Casino Royale was a terrific film, but Quantum was boring and confusing and pointless. Skyfall was great, and I greatly anticipate Spectre.
