Are all the laser pickups the same for the Nintendo Wii? I have a RVL-001 Nintendo Wii. This would be the one that is backwards compatible with Game Cube games. I read some where that there is two different laser pickups some where. What would the model number of laser pickup that works with a RVL-001.
Unfortunately, "RVL-001" is not enough information to say what type of optical pickup it uses, because the later models used a smaller logic board which needed a different ribbon on the optical pickup. The original drives used a RAF-3350 optical pickup, and the later models with a small PCB (aka "D3S" or "D4") use a RAF-3355
