well tbh im sure there is plenty of celebrities who would drop silly money on it simply because they can and they know that its a one of a kind item to have bragging rights from owning....not necessarily that they have any real desire to own it just that they could.....reminds me of a story i read about Adele spending a ton of money of a games room, when you have that kind of money you could just buy up anything you want really even on a whim....pretty sure i read another story about someone selling a one of a kind item and they had to sign a NDA but they did say they met the person in question and it was "quite a famous celebrity" (i cant for the life of me remember what it was though or i could probably find the page i read), so I'm sure there are people that can outbid the average joe collectors by a mile on these kinds of items

 

For now selling it is out of the question, he wants to show it, dump the cartridge and make the ROM available to the public as well...

And I believe this price discussion is against the rules of the first post.

I have the same sinking feeling. Announcing that you're bringing a one of a kind item to a gaming event could very well be an invitation to shady people.

 

I'm sure they'll be watching it like a hawk... I know I would be!

Imagine some Hong Kong pirating outfit that still produces Famiclones is right now plotting how they're gonna steal it so they can make a mold of it for their new Famiclone design
