Note the applicant was Sony Corporation, not Nintendo!

Man this is straight bitchin! The console looks so cool with the blend of Nintendo and Sony.

Can't wait to see what's on the cartridge and disc.

Umm i dunno i hate to carry on the fake bandwagon - however - all the new images, patents, etc prove is that if someone wanted to make a very believable fake all the information to do so and to make it look legit was out there in plain sight.

In case anyone was unsure, this patent seems to all be about the mechanism to stop the memory cartridge being removed while the system is turned on, and "allowing miniturization/simplification of the [memory cartridge] and improving flexibility of its shape and structure". Presumably how they went from a SNES cart to the Sony memory card...

Have been reading this site on and off for years but just signed up for this. I'm a big SNES fan so pretty excited by this. Pleased to see it seems to have fallen into good hands!

SNES cart to PS1 memory card, what a transition from there to here.

What are you trying to insinuate? It's almost like you expect the prototype sketches to be a 1:1 copy of this specific model which has been found. We already know there are various different revisions/models, there is nothing to discuss as prototype designs can change as often as they like as explained by Retro.

Good God, they're claiming that Daniel might sell it or donate it to a museum. There is no doggone way that he's going to give away that prototype anytime soon, right guys?

My guess is that if it goes to a museum, it'll either be a lend deal or a sale. Unless he is very rich (it doesn't seem like he is) there's no point to donating such an item.

He seems to care about the proto not ending up in a closet anyways. He said he will not sell it anytime soon and that he wants to show it around and spread the Gospel of the Nintendo SNES PlayStation around a little. So it's very good for us.

Let's hope nobody tries to steal it from him.

Given the unexpected fame and the fact that the object may have a non trivial value some may want to have a piece of the action.
The unwanted attention is definitely not good at this stage.

It's SO cool that the console looks almost exactly as the patent drawings, this gets more exciting by the minute!! :O

If the cartridge and CD he's got contain boring games that I'd never care to play, my interest will be down to zero. Software is what makes a console for me. This is definitely a relic for hardware collectors, I just want to see some more neat unreleased games.

He doesn't have the original PSU, but he got a snes one. He says he won't plug anything himself and probably not without previous verification by properly trained personnel.

Im have to commend him on how he has been handling everything so far. I know people are getting impatient but this is a piece of gaming history, and he realizes it.
