the image quality on French NES is same or worse than other NES. you can use SNES/N64/gamecube cables with it. that might be the only advantage it has if you care about that.

there's that plus its still a PAL 50hz system which means games don't run full speed unlike an ntsc nes/famicom which is 60hz.

I got an AV famicom quite a while back since I didn't own a nes, I got put off getting a pal machine since like I said above games don't run full speed in pal format.

Exactly. NES fandom is blinding people to common sense. I can't be any clearer about the purpose of this flash cart in its current form.

Finding the NES controller more comfortable than AV Famicom? What level of hades have we come to?

50/60hz mod on a NES is easy to do. I guess your favor what ever console you had growing up. Just the dog bone pad doesnt scream Nintendo to me

Pretty sure the only way to 50/60hz mod a NES is to replace the CPU and PPU, which isn't exactly 'easy to do'

Doesn't have much to do with opinion.
That NES cart mechanism had legitimate technical flaws that impeded gameplay when they occurred, think like RROD. Not like top loader jailbars.

You need to replace the master oscillator in addition to the CPU and PPU.

Yeah I don't think I'd personally support that method. Better to sell your PAL console instead.

Just checking, the m,arking "Front Side" becomes top if you used toaster NES with 60-72 pin adapter? Wouldn't want to fry a brand new Everdrive because you inserted it backward.

That depends on the adapter type. There are front facing versions as well.

Sorry if this has been addressed. Could one use this and load NES roms on their Famicom also? I ask because I have a TurboEverdrive and you flip a swith for PCe / TG16 roms.

Famicom and NES = same for most part. ROMS interchangeable between systems because they are the same format used.

Housed my Famicom Everdrive in a Tennis pulse label cart.

Prising the cart open was the hardest part, there's a good video on YouTube using quick release grippers.
Simply file down a little notch in the top half of the case and you're done.

Sweet! So it does fit in nintendos early famicom carts. Debating whether to gut my super mario bros crartridge that opens easily with eeproms on the board or ice climber.

Save that EPROM board and sell it on eBay as "unknown, maybe proto" cart. >=)

Mine haven't arrived yet but with the use of microSD is it possible to close the shell up? With no need for cutting?
