They have issues with how they games play though. Not something I want. Slowdown in Pulstar for example.

Are you sure this slowdown isn't supposed to exist? Perhaps you're used to playing it on an emulator which doesn't have the slowdown? It's not uncommon for NeoGeo games to experience slowdown. I don't see any reason why the multicart would have any solwdowns introduced. Maybe if the program roms were modified for some reason but that's still unlikely. All the games I played on my multi-cart played normally.

is rather impossible to have slowdown because the multi cart itself
the rom is played by the real hardware no chance the slowdown are not there with the original cart
unless, as stated, the rom was modified somehow (which is pointless and unlikely)
you sure could have some other problems like glitch or reset stuff (sometime it happens) tough

The only such devices I know off hand cause slowdown are GBA Supercards. Which has nothing to do with Neo Geo.

Thanks for the info please keep us updated if you here any new info. If its in AES format that's even better news as that's the one I prefer $500.00 seems like a bargain I would actually pay more if it was a high quality product. thanks again for the info. :)

If compatibility is high enough I might prefer AES. Hard to make an MVS not look ugly.

Won't an overclocked neogeo still show slowdown on metal slug 2, not because the system isn't strong enough, but because they used a slow board which they fixed for metal slug X?

Could the same thing be the problem with the multicart?

Metal Slug 2 slows down because of programming. Metal Slug X was optimized and suffers less slowdown. It had nothing to do with "boards". If a NeoGeo were overclocked as seen in emulation, slowdown in games can be reduced or eliminated though at the risk of creating other issues. Refer to overclocking in NeoGeo emulators for an example.

It would probably be easier to take one of the 161 in 1 multicarts and put new chips on it with all the games and no hacked games. Then some editing of the menu screen to reflect the new games.

You should keep in mind, the hacked games are sort of a cheap boost to the game count. All they usually are is additional P ROM data since the C and V ROM data matches the non-hacked version. So there is no real gain to be made by removing hacked versions other than to reduce menu clutter. It would be nice to see a Multi-Cart that has no hacked and *every* MVS game on it.

The NeoGeo 150-in-1 that I bought is missing these games:
01 Aggressors of Dark Kombat / Tsukai Gan Gan Koshinkyoku
    02 Art of Fighting 1
03 Art of Fighting 3: Path of the Warrior
    04 Baseball Stars Professional
    05 Chibi Marukochan Deluxe Quiz
    06 Cyber-Lip
    07 Fatal Fury 2
    08 Fatal Fury Special
    09 Fatal Fury 3
    10 Fight Fever
    11 Galaxy Fight
    12 Ghost Pilots
    13 Goal! Goal! Goal!
    14 Gururin
15 Irritating Maze, The / Ultra Denryuu Iararabou
16 Kabuki Klash / Tengai Makyo Shinden
    17 King of Fighters 2000
18 King of the Monsters 2
19 Kizuna Encounter / Fu'un Super Tag Battle
    20 League Bowling
    21 Magical Drop 3
    22 *Magician Lord
    23 Mahjong Bakatonosama Manyuki
    24 Mahjong Kyoretsuden
    25 Mahjong Minnasano Okagesamadesu
    26 *Metal Slug 5
    27 *NAM 1975
    28 *Ninja Combat
    29 Ninja Master's
    30 Pochi & Nyaa
    31 Pop 'N Bounce / Gapporin
    32 Power Spikes 2
33 Puzzled / Joy Joy Kid
    34 Puzzle de Pon! R

    42 ~Real Bout Fatal Fury 2
    43 Riding Hero
    44 Savage Reign / Fu'un Mokujiroku
    45 ~Sengoku 2
    46 ~Shock Troopers
    47 Stakes Winner 2
48 Super Dodge Ball / Nekketsu Toukyu Densetsu
    49 Super Sidekicks
    50 Super Sidekicks 4: The Ultimate 11
    51 Super Spy, The
    52 Tecmo World Soccer '96
    53 Top Player's Golf
    54 Twinkle Star Sprites
55 Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer / Chojin Gakuen Gowcaizer
    56 ~Waku Waku 7
    57 ~Windjammers / Flying Power Disk
    58 World Heroes 2 Jet
    59 World Heroes Perfect

Sure it's near 60 games missing, but that's still over 50% of the library or more. Ignore the * and ~ marks.

I heard that the NeoGeo Multi-Carts were only so popular because pirates were able to get ahold of alot of cheap memory chips from salvage allowing for HUGE capacity cartridges for these multi-carts.

There's a few MVS Multi-carts on eBay right now for not a huge amount of money.

If you could track down an MVS to AES converter you'd have a pretty sweet set up for under $400, sounds a lot but it's not really if it saves you from the money pit that is cart collecting.

He should make it and charge $1500 for it, people who like neo geo feel insulted if they don't pay over $1000 for everything :applause:

They're even cheaper if you get them thru AliExpress. They ship by EMS too, so you get it in a few days.

    So.

Is this project still alive or did the creator get pulled into the black hole known as "real life"?

If it is still alive then I will be getting myself prepped up for a 2 slot consolized MVS. Hunted around for the best board revision of the MVS made which happens to be a 2 to 4 slot design.

Life of a retro gamer: You be always spending money on another system or custom project...

    Not sure.

It was Marshall who (I think I can say it now) was developing it but since the 64Drive wasn't a trustworth product I guess the attempt to create the NeoGeo everdrive won't come to a final product.

Besides to anything related to mass-gaming-loading systems like the Everdrive. It seems to me that Krikzz is the only one with enough skills to make those, a few others make those for Atari and Odyssey 2, because those are easy to make.

The other systems we'll need to wait for Krikzz to get interested because no one else seems to be willing or able to do accomplish.
