i recently purchased a panasonic q and it was damaged durring shipping from japan. the disk drive mounts were broken off so i am looking for a new drive slides or a new drive can anyone help me out i need the black plastic parts
If you're good with superglue, you might be able to fix it provided all the plastic bits are still there. The 'slides' themselves need to be straight and more or less bump free, otherwise it'll stick on eject. I agree the plastics are abysmal on these drives. Surely some proper mounting pillars around the drive (preferably metal) would've save a lot of accidental damage.
all the mount posts on mine are broken i just posted this picture for a reference because i need a complete assembly
I have had 5 panasonic q's. All of them have had damaged drives. Hot glue I have found works well to fix them.
I doubt you'll be able to find any new (outer drive assembly) parts for these. Maybe if you were an authorized Panasonic repair centre in Japan - even then I wouldn't hold your breath!
To fix the drive to metal plate I used hot glue and holds it in place but would nice If we could find these drives I am after a power board for one of these panasonic q.
