i did have a chipped saturn moddel but proto's didnt worked on it, i used back then a dev disc #2. only that way it worked. so there is a difference between chips, did you try it your self to use proto discs on this console?
as far as i know protos are just a normal cdr, your issue is probably due to the fact that you were trying to boot a game from a region your console cant boot
Shipping is from the UK, I sent a the same package to someone in the Czech Republic cost around £30 but keep in mind that was tracked
Sounds good. Do you know if there is any troubles using it with a Framemeister? Ive heard that pal-consoles modded for 60h might create some sync-issues?
I wouldn't be able to tell you since I don't own one, sorry. I'll ask a few people that might know though
I asked and another forum member said this, Yes it does, I mean when the game switches from Hi-res to Lo-res and vice-versa there's a 5-7 sec gap due to the XRGBMini releasing the HDMI connection on top of it re-syncing on the Saturn output. Later Saturn games tended to use this switching mode more than early releases which instead stuck to one mode mostly or only used hires on title screens. It gets annoying when the games does in the middle of it, like some fighters have the Loading screen in Hi-Res then they drop you in Lo-res for the actual bout and because of the 5-7sec of "blackout sync" you don't get to see anything and get beaten to a pulp, ;-) other than that it's all good. [my 60Hz NTSC Saturn is connected directly to my LCD TV via SVideo and that does not exhibit this loss of sync behavior on res change but of course it sucks at treating 240p material [as it thinks it's 480i with ensuing "combing"] which the XRGB mini excels at instead .... oh well). The offer is still there in case you still want it but im going to take a guess and say you don't
The way i understand the answer, it seems he didnt quite understand the question and answered in general terms. Im asking myself now, give me a little while, im probably buying it!
I replied on the XRGBMini thread already. Keep in mind my experiment with PAL60 where with a modded PAL SMS 2, it should largely be the same as far as the RGB signal and the XRGBMini is concerned.
Nice, it's pretty late over here so I'll PM you tomorrow for some info on your side. Also thanks for the clarification in both this and the xrgb thread @phoenixdownuta
