    Hi! Having some problems here.

Initially I replaced a Magic V chip that seemingly didn't work so well with this Modbo board - using the same connections.

Bit of a mess, but it gave the Matrix boot screen and let me access the menu.

However, it didn't boot backups or imports - going straight to the red "Insert a PlayStation Disc" error screens.

So I figured it must be the install.

    Try again, same issue.

I read elsewhere on the forum of people having issue with these chips and certain revisions or perhaps I've missed something?

All my points check out for continuity so I find this frustrating.

Install diagram I used was for the GH-015 on Sksapps.

You're missing some points. I can see H is missing, possibly I too. I had this same issue using that website, they didn't include those points on their diagrams and those are the points that allow for the booting of backups and imports.

Is the diagram that you used? I thought that you had a V7 so it seems the above information is irrelevant.

Install looks good but it sounds like theres an issue with the solder joints for "A B G I" or "H" not being connected might be the culprit (Odd ball PAL PS2?) but i hear PAL consoles don't need it connected. Try reworking those connections and if that doesn't work, follow this diagram for the "H" point:

It might say for Japan and Taiwan PS2's but just ignore that.

    Worth a shot!

I found a PAL Matrix Infinity V5 diagram that instructed not to add G at all so I tried removing it last night but that didn't help. I'll try connecting H. Will probably redo all the connections on that side of the chip too, I'll try not routing the cables under chip legs too.

Install all the connections, even on a PAL. Thats what works for me without failure so far.

Seems like that was the solution, connecting both G and H. How frustrating! Oh well, glad it is fixed now.

Maybe only European ones wouldn't need H?

By European I mean those with 04 at the end.

You only skip wires on NTSC/UC consoles. It's like that EVEN on the original Matrix Infinity chip.
