Heh, I still prefer switches, no matter how "inventive" switchless is. It also helps with hardware debugging and such, if I were to ever test a rom on a real system, I would love to be able to play with region switches, make sure that 50/60Hz doesnt mess with anything I put in. (I doubt it would, but still.)

you can connect RESET on pin 20 of the 68k (it's in the right upper corner of the board).

to bad you can't change modes without reseting the system.

Wouldn't it be cool to make the bi/tri-color LEDs replace the model 2 Megadrive power light? I might try this.

I think you must be aware of this but I don't find it anywhere on the forum:

    Megadrive switchless by DForce3000:
    http://dforce3000.de/index.php?p=news&t=mod

I do it on my Jap Megadrive and it works like a charm.
But the Led size is too large for the original megadrive led hole.

Have you tried this mod and if so, what did you do?

You could sand the led to make it smaller.

I finally finished it and it works perfectly.

I used dremel to bring the led as close as possible to the hole from inside.
Looking at the megadrive from outside is now like the original.

    Thanks DForce3000.

    So - a thought...
(I'm not sure much about PAL games as I have none)
JP Megadrive games appear to have a notch partway down the side...
    US Genesis games do not...

How about an optical sensor for region auto-switch?
