I'm going through with this so I'm starting a thread for the people who want to work on it.

I'm doing story and Level layouts. In the Spirit of the Old games Bosses should be a collective idea as classic Mega Man had those robot design contests.

I have a programer, and composer. So All I need are artists.

ONLY POST if you want to be a part of this.

"Assembler version" ? "I'm in" ? Don't act as if you suddenly started a huge community project here, you don't even have a bit of talent and suddenly you run the show? Pfft. You're just dreaming.

Have you asked ASSEMbler if you actually could call it ASSEMBLER VERSION?

Like just telling us not to post in here is gonna keep us from calling out BS on you. The way I see it, you're gonna suddenly "start" this project, that would, if anyone actually took you seriously, start with programmers and artists and composers. And where do you come in? When ALLLLLL of that is done, and they just need someone to make level designs. And last I heard, level designers don't suddenly start projects and become the one running it when they're contribution is dependent on everyone else. Project managers usually hire the level designers, the designers don't just start the whole game. It's an insult and is just plain ludicrous you even proposed this, I mean how could you not have seen posts like this in your lifetime and laugh at the thought of it. We all dream of it at one point, but it has to be a team effort. A REAL team effort. And obviously you're not ready for that. You just want a game so you can edit it, the way I see it. Know how minimal an effort that is on your part? It's like hacking. It's not your work, you're just going over it.

Hell, forget all I've said. You know what, it's been a dream of mine since I was a young kid to write the next great sherlock holmes. I got an idea for a story. Will somebody PLEASE write the whole thing for me? I'll be the proofreader. This is an assembler project people, and I am gonna make it happen. I'm in.

Not trying to defend the idea, but there is more than one way to make a game and the process for a professional game is certainly going to be different than a fan project. I think that GoH got more than enough encouragement/discouragement from the other thread. If he still wants to go ahead with this, and happens to have found people willing to go along with it, there is no reason to stop or attack him (no matter how misguided we may think he is :110:). The "ASSEMbler Version" thing might need to change though.

I agree, just let him be. The inevitable FAILure will be part of the learning process, like when a kid that realizes they will never be a rockstar.

And if he does manage to succeed with his game, then my post would've only proven to be motivation.

I thought this place was better than this.
That I could make this thread without all this bullshit about how I can't do it.

This thead was supposed to JUST before the people working on this.

Take it easy Sir, some are just teasing you. And some are harassing you. But screw it, just write your idea down, make a story board with pictures over it. And ask again . And maybe even make a mock up of some of it. Give people the mental finger instead. So get yourself together, and say to yourself "screw it, I am going to do it ! even if it is made on an engine which is an open source engine, where I use the editor to make it".

*Phew* Tough Crowd. Sorry to see you being put down so much... but as my view of things like this go, I dont see how or if its going to get off of the ground ever. And by saying this I mean no offense to you at all. If you really want to do this, you have to stick to it and work work work. Good Luck.

Try DCEMU.co.uk. You could make it a PSP LUA game, or a Flash game.

I only say that because I know some people there would actually join this team of yours. Hell, we've had people make their own Halo & Zelda PSP homebrew games. Maybe as a PSP LUA, you would actually get somewhere...

AG is better then this the only problem is your reputation here, I am not that active as others on AG but even I know you.
So if you ask me you should of known you would get these kind of reactions from users but still you act surprised?
Don't get me wrong, I am not here to put you down.. I don't have an opinion and frankly you or your posts don't bother me and even amuse me seeing how others react to it! so do what you have to do but know your place and credits.
