Is there any way to replicate a mega cd,s backup cart with a normal game cart?? or am i miles off. i have seen some original sega ones for sale at ok prices, but they all appear to be jap.. and i presume they wont work on PAL equipment.
The RAM cartridge are just SRAM + an address decoder + battery backup circuit. You could extensively hack a game to work as one, but if you have to ask it will be much too difficult.
The Backup RAM cartridge does exist in PAL and US flavours too but the Japanese one works on all machines and is a lot easier to find.
